# Privacy Policy — Hermes (Echidna) *Effective 12 October 2026. This policy covers the personal AI assistant known as Hermes, or Echidna.* ## Who this covers Hermes is a private assistant used by one person: its owner, Bailey McCann. It has no other users and no public sign-up. ## What data it accesses With the owner's explicit permission, and only from **her own Google account**, Hermes can access: | Data | Why | |---|---| | Google Drive files, Google Docs and Sheets | To read and work with documents she asks about | | Gmail messages | To search, review and draft replies she has approved | | Google Calendar | To keep her schedule and reminders accurate | | Google Contacts | To recognise the people a task involves | Hermes requests nothing beyond these purposes and does not read accounts that are not the owner's. ## How the data is used Data is used only to perform the task the owner has requested. It is not used to build advertising profiles, is not analysed for marketing, is not sold, and is not shared with third parties except as described below. ## Third parties Generating responses requires AI model processing. Content may therefore be sent to the AI model providers that power the assistant, solely to produce the requested output. No data is sold or shared for advertising. The assistant uses no analytics or tracking. ## Storage and security The Google authorization token is stored on a private server controlled by the owner, reachable only over an authenticated connection. Credentials are not published, and the token can be revoked at any time. ## Retention and deletion - The owner can revoke Hermes's access at any time at **myaccount.google.com/permissions**, which immediately ends future access. - Deleting the stored token on the owner's server removes the assistant's ability to reach Google at all. - Documents, mail and calendar entries remain in the owner's own Google account throughout; the assistant keeps no separate copy of them beyond what is needed to complete a task. ## Google API Services disclosure Hermes's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the [Google API Services User Data Policy](https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy), including the Limited Use requirements. ## Children Not applicable — the assistant is used only by an adult owner and is not available to anyone else. ## Changes Any change to what Hermes accesses will be reflected on this page, with the date above updated. ## Contact [email protected] %% #AI — written by Hermes at Bailey's request, 2026-10-12 %%
